So much has happened since the last update-Tyler finally has his hearing aids and the difference in him is incredible! He was sleeping so much before and every since, we can’t get him to take naps. It’s like he doesnt want to miss anything 🙂 His little personality is coming out and he is vocalizing so much more. We also had a swallow study done a couple weeks ago and he was apirating. We switched feeding positions to a elevated sideline and he is fine now. He has started physical, occupational, and speech therapy thanks to our early intervention program. He is up to 8lbs 14 ounces but his gain has decreased dramatically. He only gained 3 ounces in the last 2 weeks. We are going back for another weight check next week. He is eating more and generally a pretty happy fellow. I have attached a video of him talking it up.
I also started a blog awhile back and keep try my best to do updates there…..

I think that sounds wonderful! As for the weight gain – make sure you have a copy of the wolf hirschhorn growth chart. Alexander gains 2 oz a month… so – we are a slow go here too. Great update! Kristen

Great news! I have a question about the hearing aids. Did the doctors say if Tyler had small ear canals? Kaylee has conductive hearing loss and very narrow ear canals. They are saying she might not be able to wear traditional aids. We tried the bone induction kind on a headband, but it was too heavy on her head. Any insight on this would be appreciated!
Laurie,
After seeing the audiologist, we were sent to the ENT for clearance for the hearing aids. She did mention that Tyler had very small ear canals. She said that she had seen babies his size before and even compared to them; the canals were small. His ear molds for the aids are super tiny but they do work. One ear fits like a glove but the other keeps falling out. We are going back to the audiologist so she can do another ear mold for better fitting…hope this helps 🙂
Great news! Very exciting updates.
