Schooling – Esme goes to a local special school two days a week and has all her therapies there (speech, language I think are the only ones she now has). She goes to a mainstream nursery half a day a week with her sister. St the recent annual review her special school recommended a split placement when she attends school full time as they think she will cope in a mainstream primary setting one or two days a week given her exceptional receptive languahe, developing fine motor skills and speech. We were floored by this having never thought this would be conceviable so we have had to rush around local primary schools to assess them. We have a Statement of Special Educational Needs so apparently can ‘demand’ where we send her! The schools we have seen seem very good, inclusive and able to accept children such as Esme.

Loved reading about Esme — and can I say, I’m a little jealous of her wardrobe. Girl has STYLE! :o) The pictures were all fantastic, but perhaps most of all, I loved reading her classroom note. She is making an enormous impact in your world, and beyond. What a light she is. Look forward to hearing more about her! (I’m momma to Elsa, age 2 1/2, and loved seeing her running on the beach. Can’t wait for Elsa to do that someday!)
