Well…..Our girl is 1! Time is flying by and I try to remind myself to enjoy the here and now and not worry about the what will be’s. We have been battling a fever for 8 days now and it has been a bit rough, but this too shall pass. I worried that she might not enjoy her big day, but I really think she did and I will forever love that memory. She is just a lovely little lady and we are crazy about her.

Happy birthday beautiful. Is she teething? How high are the fevers?
She is precious! I bet she will surprise us all!
I think her and Elijah hit it off as friends. Need to plan anouther play date
How exciting! First Birthday! Congratulations! She is so cute! Has she been doing anything new since your last post/blog?
Yes, Sending Birthday Blessings! Just Adorable.
Fever, fever go away and don’t come back….just stay away!
Not too much. She has been seriously ill. We have had a HIGH fever for 8 days straight. It has been 103-104. I took her in and did tons of tests and it appears to be a UTI. It was super scary. I think the antibiotics we are on now are helping and we are on the mend finally. She does more social stuff now rather than big gross motor development. Like, she gives you pats when you pick her up. She also touches stuff with her finger. She is starting to bring toys and stuff to her mouth a bit. She laughs now. She also cries when I leave the room and looks for me. This one is huge for me because it seemed like she just went to anyone. It makes me so happy that she knows who I am now.
We checked her heart and one of the valves was slightly enlarged but the cardiologist said he was not concerned. We will double check it in a year. Other than a virus and the UTI set backs, we are moving along and just loving her.
Happy First Birthday Sweet Charlotte Ellen. The photos indicate her birthday celebration was a big success. Being sick did not rob her of the opportunity to get dressed up for the occasion and dig into her cake. She knows who her mommy is. That is the only developmental milestone that really matters. It is her birthday gift to you.
