Today we met with the specialist and physical therapist from our local Early Intervention office to have Caroline’s evaluation and get their recommendations on her development. I couldn’t have been more pleased with how she did. She just made 3 months yesterday and she is doing so much, although the PT says she is at about 2 months developmentally, but she thinks thats mostly just due to her small size. She almost has control of her head and neck so that she can stabilize it when you sit her up or hold her up in the air. She is lifting her head and pushing up with her arms very well when I prop her up on the boppy pillow. The only concern the PT had is that she doesn’t push herself up very well when you lay her on her stomach flat on the floor. She determined that it was most likely because the muscles in her arms still seem a little tight, so she isn’t stretching her arms out far enough in front of her, so she showed me some exercises to help with that. Other than that, the PT was actually fairly surprised at how much she can do, since she is a very tiny little girl (we are almost up to 8lbs!). So based off her recommendation, we are going to have a specialist come once a week to work with her in all areas of development, and the PT will come back with the specialist once a month to evaluate her and make sure she keeps progressing like she should be.
With my first child, these little developmental milestones where great to see, but with Caroline they have taken on a completely new meaning. I am so much more thankful for all the little things that she is able to accomplish and do. I am hopeful that her development will continue, and I can’t wait to see all the ways that this little girl is going to surprise me!

Wow! It’s great to get a positive assessment report. Caroline is an adorable, healthy looking, bright eyed baby. Thank’s for sharing her and her progress report with us. Enjoy her, and keep us posted.
How great that Caroline is already off to such a good start! And not to sound like a teenage girl, but OH MY GOOOOOOOD! She is SOOOOO FREAKIN’ CUTE!!!
I just have to say that she is adorable. Just remember that “no two babies are alike” and don’t let some of what you read scare you. We all have tough times WHS or not, but what matters is how we get past them. She is no doubt a blessing. Good luck to you and your family. ADORABLE!
She is an absolute doll — what a sweetheart. My Elsa, who is 19 months old, is working a lot on arm strength right now. She loves to push up to standing with her legs and feet, but avoids using her arms because they aren’t her area of strength. PT is so great in keeping strength building exercises top of mind. Caroline is going to do great!
