Hi! We are the McGrady’s JT, Mary and Garner. We are blessed to have a beautiful home on the Elk River in Fayetteville, Tennessee south of Nashville about an hour and a half. Garner is 16 months old, he was born on March 9, 2012. He was diagnosed with WHS a week after birth at Vanderbilt’s Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital. At birth he weighed 4.3 pounds and now he weighs 16.4 pounds. Garner was born with an atrial septal defect, failure to thrive, an un-fused corpus callosum, developmental, cognitive, and physical delays. As of right now he is involved in physical, occupational, and speech therapies. We have seen tremendous improvement in his development since his therapy began. God has gifted us with the blessing of our son. Garner has changed people already and will continue to do so throughout his life. His fun loving personality and happy disposition makes us happier than anything in the world.

I love Garner’s little turned down mouth, Rochelle has one of those. My favorite Garner photo is the one in which he has wrapped his tiny hands around his bottle. That is impressive. I jumped for joy when Rochelle did that. She was 3-4 years old. The great thing about this photo story is all the people Garner has in his life. With all this support, he’s got greatness written all over him.
He is adorable! And he actually looks a lot like who I’m assuming is his Grandma! (the woman in the coral shirt in one photo and standing next to Mommy in the following photo)
Hi Shirley as I’m sure you know, even the small things can make us parents jump for joy and celebrate 🙂 We have a great support net of family and friends which is so important to us.
Kristen, that is my mom in the coral shirt and she will be so happy that you said Garner looks like her, she loves to hear that 🙂
Congrats on your precious baby boy. He is so handsome! I remember when my Nathaniel was just a baby. There is no doubt that he is loved. Just take it one day at a time and enjoy it while it lasts. The good thing is that we get to enjoy our “babies” a little bit longer 🙂
