The following post was composed by a grade 4/5 class who love Ali as a classmate, a friend, and a boy with WHS. We want everyone to know what he means to us.
By Division 6, W… Elementary
There are very few people that have Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome in the world but in Division 6 we are blessed by Ali. It’s not a bad syndrome; it’s a good syndrome because it helps people learn the meaning of life. We love having Ali in the class because he is filled with joy. When he enters the room, it lights up. He has a great sense of humour and whenever he laughs, we laugh along with him. He jokes around, he rubs our hair and he makes us smile. He’s really funny and smart as well. He can count to 10, write his name, colour inside the lines and can play basketball really well.
We are really lucky to have him participate with us, we enjoy it a lot and he enjoys it just as much. We feel connected to him and he makes everyone feel comfortable. He will always look at you and say, “You are so funny!” and “silly you!” Some children with W.H.S. can’t talk but sometimes Ali talks too much!
Ali always shares and he never says no to anyone that wants to play with him, he’s very empathetic. Everyone loves spending time with him at lunch or at recess blowing bubbles. He loves when they pop and if you want to share his bubble wands he always says yes.
Ali is such a big part of our class and he was meant to be in Division 6. He has been a joy to us and everyone around him. It is a privilege to have him in our class.

Awesome! I’m so glad you are all enjoying being classmates together. My daughter has the same syndrome, and I hope when she is old enough to go to school, that she is blessed with such welcoming and fun classmates as yourselves. Great work writing your post.
My son, Ryan, has Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome as well. As Ryan moves on to Kindergarten next year I can only hope he continues to be loved and accepted like this by his peers.
What a wonderful letter!
Well done Div. 6.. Beautiful story about our lovely Ali. Ali is so blessed to have so many caring and lovely friends.
Thank you so much for your letter. We truly enjoyed it.
This is great Janette, please give your class a big thanks from all of us at wh.org.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your friend Ali. Having friends that know, understand and accept us, is important to everyone. You have told us many good things about Ali. I am sure he has many wonderful things to say about each one of you.
