I always wanted a little girl…even from the time that I was a little girl. I was as “princess” as they came~ I role-played all of the damsels in distress in my make-believe world (with a little help from some Disney vinyl records that had all the songs). When my oldest daughter was born, I was beyond excited. After several years passed, I realized that she was a tomboy at heart~ there were no princess dresses for her.

Flash-forward 12 years later when I found out I was pregnant with Kaylee, and I was psyched to have another chance to have a little Disney princess of my own. The diagnosis definitely put a damper on my long-term visions for my baby girl, but one thing that WHS would not be able to do was keep me from experiencing that small piece of my fantasy.

In fact, I figured….why wait?

This Halloween, I chose Belle from Beauty and the Beast purposely: she is a girl who is thoughtful, unpretentious, and could be defined as an “old soul”. The problem is that no one can understand her. To the people around her, she is “peculiar” and “odd.” By the end of her story, we come to realize that she is special because she has the unique ability to love someone for who they are– not just what they are. She leaves a special mark ~ she changes people.

Meet my Belle…

I have been blessed with being able to see little Kaylee on an almost weekly basis. The growth she has shown, and the love she gives out, is amazing. Kaylee is the one of the sweetest, cutest babies I have ever seen. She has shown a will to learn and I have high hopes that she will exceed any predictions. Thank you for sharing Kaylee’s story and keep enjoying your princess.
