Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me some stories about going to see a dentist and what to expect?  My daughter Taylor has not seen a dentist yet.  She is 3 years old now but we are having to wait for an appointment with a Dr. not close to home.  It is so hard to brush her teeth and she fights me when I try to do it.  Her teeth have not completely come in all the way and some of them are starting to look bad to me.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

My Aubri had her first dentist appt. in Dec. She also does not allow her teeth to be brushed without a fight. The dentist she went to specialized in handicapped children but was two hours drive away from where we live. When we got there he stuck one finger in the side of her mouth to hold it open and he counted her teeth( she has 16! I only could get to 11 before I got bit). She fought him the whole 2 minutes! He then told me we would sedate her in the future when she needed anything done as the stress on her is too much. Aubri does not take any foods by mouth at this time so her teeth were not bad but he did reccomend floride wipes for her teeth. My months of worrying about how the dentist would be able to get in her mouth and if I was a bad mom for not getting in her mouth was relieved in a five minute appt.
