Elijah Primary Children's Hospital N.I.C.U.

Elijah was born December 9th 2010 at 38.5 weeks gestation weighing 5lb 2.1oz and was 19in long. Elijah was born with bladder exstrophy (a congenital anomality in which part of the urinary bladder is present outside the body.) Less then 24 hour old Elijah had major surgery to place his bladder in side and suture his pelvis bone together.  He was also born with a cranial asymmetry, the bone structure on the left side of Elijah’s face is slightly underdeveloped and smaller then the Right, he also has a coloboma of the left eye.
This leading to the discovery of a chromosome 4 deletion, Elijah is missing his 4p 15.2 15.3 & 16 chromosome.  Elijah has over come so much in the first  month of his life, I see a fighter every time I look at this little boy and am proud to call him mine. Elijah and I are excited to get to know all of the WHS families and to share with you are triumphs, setbacks and the joy, laughter, and tears that come with it all.

Hello! Elijah is adorable!! I’m sure you were as happy as I was to find this site. It’s wonderful! My daughter, Magnolia, was born on October 5th, 2010. I started a blog to keep our families informed of her progress as well as to connect with other families who have children with WHS.

Looking forward to getting to know you and baby Elijah.

Hello… He is such a beautiful little boy! I also see a fighter when I look at his photo. One of the things I have learned is that the doctors do not have his fate in hand. God and the power of prayer makes all things possible. I look forward to hearing all the great news on little Elijah and getting to hear how brave he is.

I love this picture! He is so teeny-tiny!

Belated congratulations on the birth of sweet Elijah. He is almost three, but I just came to read all about him now. He had a difficult start, but it sounds like both of you are are prepared to meet the challenges life presents.
