Norrah turns 2 years old on Thursday!  I cannot believe how quickly time flies.  Since we have a busy weekend planned I thought that I would write her ‘birthday post’ a few days early.

Norrah’s second year of life was filled with miracles and memories.  She learned to feed herself and is now eating a variety of textures.  She holds her own bottle and sippy cup (when she wants to – which is most of the time).  She crawls, climbs and says about 12-15 words the latest of which is “diaper.”  It sounds like “pep-pa” but I know what she means and I love it!  She is playing well with her sister and playing not-so-well too which is equally amusing.  She lives to sing and dance and “jump” which just means she bounces up and down on her hiney while her sister jumps around her.  She likes to say “bye-bye” when she sees the diaper bag or the car keys.  She says a sweet “hhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiii” to everyone who comes to our home.  She is so much fun.  She now sits and crawls in the bathtub and pool by herself.  She can stand for very long periods of time and has been taking steps with a walker or push toy – all the while complaining as if walking was the worst thing that ever happened to her.  She is no longer puking her days (AND NIGHTS) away and she is sleeping like a champion.

Sadly, seizures developed a few months ago.  ONE PART OF THIS SECOND YEAR THAT I COULD CERTAINLY DO WITHOUT!  Norrah still has a heart defect but it is completely asymptomatic so we are just going to watch and wait.  Otherwise her health has been amazing.  Only one or two “sick visits” at the doctors this year.

Norrah’s personality is so awesome.  She is sweet and gentle and yet she is also fiesty and forceful when she needs to be.  She is definitely sharing her opinions with us these days and we are pleased.  She is making a mess of the house since she is mobile and she is trying new things every day.

I am looking foward to Norrah’s 3rd year with anticipation and joy.  I know it will include a few things I am dreading, like training her to fall asleep on her own and medication for seizures, but I am excited nonetheless.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET BABY GIRL!  I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW FAR YOU HAVE COME, HOW MUCH YOU HAVE GROWN AND HOW UNWILLING YOU ARE TO GIVE UP OR BE STILL.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NORRAH.

Beautiful! Happy birthday Norrah. She is quite accomplished for the WHS 2-year old kiddo! I expect more wonderful accomplishments from her in this next year. Sorry to hear about the seizures they are definitly one of the toughest parts of WHS. But I can tell they are not going to hold Norrah back at all 🙂
