This week, we reached a milestone for both Kendall and for our family. Some of you know what I mean and some of you will know one day what I mean. This week, Kendall started school. It’s amazing how far she has come when just a year ago, a first day of school was never even a consideration.
This week, Kendall transitioned into an early childhood summer program that lasts for 4 weeks. The program is meant to give children an opportunity to stay engaged in what they’ve learned during the school year and to help them remember more over the summer break. This was a chance for us to get her acclimated into school before the fall program starts. The summer program runs Monday through Thursday, each morning from 8-11:15.
It’s extremely weird to even think that Kendall is in school. It didn’t seem that long ago when she this little baby that had trouble being stimulated. It was just a year ago that she couldn’t even sit up on her own. It’s amazing how far she has come, and every day is another advancement for her. Now she is in school learning more and interacting with new kids similar to her. It’s so hard to fathom what has transpired in the past 3 months. Now, our little girl is in school…
In this picture, Kendall is waiting for school to start and has her brand new backpack loaded up with her syringe, Peptamen and a few diapers for the day. She’s all ready to rock and to start soaking up that knowledge!
She adapted well this week and seems to love going to school. The best part of it is that she comes home exhausted and falls asleep easier when nap time rolls around…

How exciting! She looks absolutely adorable in that picture. You must be so proud.
Im so glad she is enjoying school! I love the picture…..shes sooooo cute!
So excited for Kendall and your family! This is a huge milestone. I love seeing the progress she is making, gives us such hope for Riley.
Riley will do great. The floodgates have opened for Kendall and it all started when her sister started walking and she learned to scoot around. Once she realized that she can get places, her motivation to do more has skyrocketed. In fact, she is walking in her walker to the extent she can stop turn it and keep going. Every day brings new advancements. We are amazed every day.
That is awesome! I can’t wait for those days to come!
YEA FOR KENDALL! What a big girl! I am so excited to hear about all that she has been doing lately. GREAT THINGS AHEAD!
I know I haven’t been on in a while but I feel like Kendall grew up over night! She is such a big girl now! Congrats to Kendall!
